An academic and applied commitment positioning kuwait technical college as a national hub for developing cybersecurity experts and strengthening Kuwait’s cyber resilience

As part of its commitment to supporting Kuwait’s national cybersecurity ecosystem and enhancing digital readiness, kuwait technical college participated in the Kuwait 7th Conference on Combating Cybercrime, held on January 7–8, 2026, at Jumeirah Hotel, Kuwait. The conference brought together leading government entities, cybersecurity experts, and industry specialists to address the evolving challenges of cyber threats.

kuwait technical college’s participation reflects its strategic vision of placing cybersecurity at the core of its academic and national responsibility, based on the belief that building national cyber capabilities begins with specialized, applied education and serves as the first line of defense in protecting the country’s digital infrastructure and critical services.

As part of the conference program, Dr. Maha Al-Qallaf, Assistant Professor and Cybersecurity Expert at kuwait technical college, delivered a specialized presentation titled “Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure.” Her session highlighted the growing cyber threats targeting critical sectors, their impact on service continuity, and the importance of proactive preparedness through skilled human capital and advanced cybersecurity frameworks.

The presentation also underscored the vital role of academic institutions in strengthening national cyber resilience by bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application—an approach that kuwait technical college continues to champion through its academic programs and industry engagement.

The conference featured an official opening ceremony with addresses by the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) and the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), in addition to remarks by Conference Chairman Mr. Mohammed Al-Jassem and Organizing Committee Chairman and Executive Director Mr. Mubarak Abdulhadi, followed by the recognition of sponsoring entities.

Conference sessions covered key strategic themes including cybercrime prevention, critical infrastructure security, advanced digital threats, data and cloud security, digital currencies, and cyber risk management—reinforcing cybersecurity as a fundamental pillar of national security in an era of rapid digital transformation.

In line with this national direction, kuwait technical college proudly offers Cybersecurity programs at both the Diploma and Bachelor’s degree levels, delivering an applied, career-focused education model aligned with labor market needs and Kuwait’s future digital priorities. These programs aim to graduate highly qualified national talent capable of safeguarding digital systems and critical infrastructure.

The College further ensures hands-on learning by actively engaging its students in practical initiatives such as Cyberthon competitions, national awareness campaigns, and major cybersecurity conferences—providing them with real-world exposure and direct contribution to Kuwait’s cyber preparedness.

kuwait technical college reaffirms its ongoing commitment to serving as a national incubator for cybersecurity expertise, through specialized education, applied learning, and active participation in building a sustainable and resilient national cybersecurity framework that supports Kuwait’s long-term vision and protects its digital assets.
