kuwait technical college (ktech) Launches Bachelor’s Programs: Cybersecurity Leads the Way as Applied Higher Education Enters a New Era of Excellence

In a bold move that reflects its unwavering commitment to advancing applied university education and aligning with labor market demands, Kuwait Technical College (ktech) has officially launched its new bachelor’s degree programs, marking a pivotal evolution from diploma-only offerings to comprehensive academic pathways focused on emerging technology disciplines. This strategic step reinforces Ktech’s position as a leading institution in technical and digital education.

Mishari Ayman Boodai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, stated:
"The launch of bachelor’s programs at ktech represents a major milestone in the college’s journey and embodies our vision to deliver a higher education model that is deeply rooted in technology and directly serves the needs of the labor market."

He added:
"Today, we are taking a step toward practical, forward-thinking higher education that meets the aspirations of students and keeps pace with global digital transformation. In a world shifting toward digital economies, education is the bridge that connects national ambition to global progress."

Mr. Boodai emphasized that digital education is not merely a tool but a cornerstone in preparing Kuwait’s youth for global competitiveness and innovation, stating:
"Our academic vision is built on the conviction that the knowledge economy begins in the classroom."

He also highlighted ktech’s strategic partnership with Eastern Michigan University (EMU), a well-established U.S. university recognized for its program diversity and international accreditations, which strengthens the potential for local and global recognition of ktech’s programs.

The college recently received preliminary institutional accreditation from the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and its Business College has joined the AACSB network. Additionally, the Cybersecurity program is accredited through ABET, the international accreditation body for engineering and technology.

Forward-Looking Programs for a Digital Economy

Noora Ayman Boodai, Vice President for Student Affairs and Registration, affirmed that the new bachelor’s programs were developed with precision and strategic foresight after analyzing both local and international market needs. The programs include:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Information Systems

"These majors lie at the heart of the digital economy and represent the future of high-value careers," said Ms. Boodai.
"Our curriculum blends academic excellence with practical skills to ensure our students graduate equipped for the market from day one."

Beyond academics, ktech offers a rich ecosystem of student life, including professional sports teams, academic and cultural clubs, and leadership development opportunities to build confidence and foster collaboration.

This student-centric model has already yielded impressive athletic accomplishments:

  • 3rd place worldwide in volleyball among 120 universities
  • 8th place worldwide in basketball at the World University Championship in Rome

ktech is also committed to inclusive education, providing a fully accessible campus, support resources, and ongoing academic assistance for students with disabilities.
"We believe every student deserves equal access to education and success. That’s why we actively remove barriers and provide an inclusive university experience for all," she affirmed.

Bridging Education and Employment

Ms. Boodai also highlighted the college’s growing institutional partnerships with both public and private sectors, positioning ktech as a real-world connector between academia and employment.

"Our partnerships go beyond internships — they give students real exposure to the professional world and allow employers early access to emerging talent. This synergy creates a win-win scenario for national development."

Built for the Future: A Digitally Driven Campus

Abdulrahman Abdulqader Al-Ajeel, Vice President for Finance and Administration, explained:
"At ktech, technology is not an accessory — it is the operational foundation. Every part of the student experience is designed and managed through interconnected digital platforms, from classrooms to labs to scheduling systems."

He added that the college has spared no effort — financially or administratively — in building world-class infrastructure and attracting an internationally experienced academic team, describing these investments as "a direct contribution to Kuwait’s future."

Mr. Al-Ajeel also emphasized Ktech’s success in increasing the nationalization of its workforce, with Kuwaitis now making up over 40% of the academic and administrative staff.
"We are not just empowering youth as learners — we are positioning them as leaders in shaping the future of higher education in Kuwait."

A Strategic Location at the Crossroads of Growth

Located in Abu Halifa, Ahmadi Governorate, Ktech benefits from its position at the crossroads of residential, commercial, and industrial hubs — offering students easy access and proximity to real-world work environments that enhance internship and employment opportunities.

Enrollment Now Open with Scholarship Opportunities

As part of its mission to expand access to higher education, ktech has opened registration for the new bachelor’s programs starting in the 2025–2026 academic year, with scholarships available for high-achieving students.

The college affirms that its vision extends beyond education — ktech is a launchpad for innovation and a platform for developing the next generation of leaders, equipped to drive Kuwait’s transformation.
