Kuwait Technical College Champions Youth and Sustainability at University Electronics Recycling Challenge Launch
Kuwait – October 18, 2026
As part of national efforts to promote environmental sustainability and empower young people to develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges, kuwait technical college (ktech) participated in the press conference launching the Private Universities Electronics Waste Recycling Challenge.
The initiative is organized by the ECO Environmental and Renewable Energy Incubator in collaboration with Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority. The event took place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Environment Public Authority’s auditorium, with the participation of strategic partners and representatives from participating universities and colleges.
The initiative aims to raise environmental awareness among university and college students and encourage their active participation in electronic waste recycling through technology, innovation, and responsible practices that help protect the environment and conserve resources. It also seeks to strengthen the role of educational institutions in empowering young people to transform their knowledge and technical skills into ideas and initiatives that create a positive and lasting impact on society.
kuwait Technical College’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting initiatives that connect education with practical application and provide students with opportunities to use their technical skills to address environmental challenges. This commitment aligns with Kuwait’s sustainable development priorities and the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035.
During the press conference, Meshari Ayman Boodai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at kuwait Technical College, said:
“At kuwait Technical College, we believe that education, technology, and innovation are fundamental pillars of sustainable development. The role of educational institutions extends beyond transferring knowledge to preparing a generation equipped with the skills and capabilities needed to face future challenges and contribute to developing practical solutions.”
He added:
“Our participation in the ECO Incubator initiative reaffirms the importance of empowering young people and encouraging them to apply their knowledge and technical skills in service of the environment and society, while raising their awareness of how every innovative idea can make a positive impact. We do not aspire merely to prepare students who can keep up with the future; we aspire to prepare a generation capable of creating it.”
To expand student participation, introductory workshops are scheduled to take place during November 2026 at selected private universities and colleges across Kuwait. These workshops will introduce students to the challenge’s objectives, highlight the environmental importance of electronic waste recycling, and explain participation requirements and the role students can play in the initiative’s success.
kuwait technical college is scheduled to host its introductory workshop on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The session will familiarize students with the initiative’s key themes and requirements while encouraging them to develop innovative ideas and initiatives that support electronics recycling and promote responsible environmental practices both on and off campus.
Guided by its vision of preparing technically skilled and innovative graduates, ktech remains committed to supporting initiatives that bring together education, technology, and sustainability.
The College seeks to empower students to transform knowledge into practical solutions that protect the environment and serve the community, contributing to a more sustainable future for Kuwait.
Through this initiative, ktech hopes to further strengthen environmental awareness among students, encourage the adoption of sustainable practices, and inspire active participation in reducing electronic waste. The College believes that investing in young people and innovation is an essential step towards a more environmentally conscious and sustainable future for generations to come.
