Kuwait Technical College Leads Kuwait Cyber League 2026, Securing Top Honors.

kuwait technical college (ktech) has achieved an outstanding result in cybersecurity, with its students leading the third edition of Kuwait Cyber League 2026, held on Friday, 16 October 2026, at Grand Hyatt Kuwait. The competition brought together 12 universities from across Kuwait and was held under the patronage of the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) and the National Cyber Security Center, and organized by Zone and Dawrat.

ktech students secured first and third places in the university category, demonstrating their capabilities in cybersecurity. In the open competition, which attracted more than 120 teams, a three-member team that included one ktech student secured first place overall. This distinction highlights the individual student’s contribution while accurately recognizing the achievement as a team effort.

This achievement is particularly significant in light of ktech’s pioneering position as the first educational institution in Kuwait to introduce a specialized bachelor’s degree program in cybersecurity. The program reflects the college’s early commitment to preparing qualified national talent in one of the fastest-growing and most strategically important technology fields. This academic focus has helped create a learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, enabling students to develop skills aligned with labor market needs and evolving digital security challenges.

The results were achieved during a hackathon in which teams tackled technical challenges designed to test their ability to identify and analyze security vulnerabilities, reverse-engineer systems, assess web application security, conduct digital forensics, and address network security problems.

These accomplishments reflect the advanced capabilities of ktech students and their ability to apply academic knowledge and practical skills to specialized technical challenges in a competitive setting that demands analytical thinking, rapid decision-making, and teamwork. They also underscore the value of specialized academic programs in building strong applied skills and technical expertise.

Notably, the students who secured third place were among those who participated in a training program in Qatar last year. The training opportunities made available to students, alongside competitions organized by the college, helped strengthen their readiness to compete by sharpening their cybersecurity problem-solving skills and developing analytical thinking, teamwork, and time management. These experiences also helped bridge academic knowledge and practical application, while building students’ confidence in their ability to compete and achieve leading positions.

kuwait technical college (ktech) expressed its pride in the achievement, which demonstrates the competence and distinction of its students in cybersecurity and the importance of applied education in developing national talent capable of keeping pace with advances in technology and digital security. The college also takes pride in its pioneering role in offering a specialized cybersecurity bachelor’s degree in Kuwait and in supporting national efforts to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities.

The college further emphasized that participation in competitions of this kind forms part of its commitment to expanding practical experience, encouraging innovation, and developing specialized technical skills. Through academic study and hands-on learning opportunities, ktech aims to equip students to turn knowledge into practical solutions and contribute to Kuwait’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

kuwait technical college (ktech) concluded by congratulating its winning students and reaffirming its pride in an achievement that adds to the college’s record of accomplishments, reflects its strong presence in national technical competitions, and reinforces its ongoing commitment to preparing Kuwaiti talent to help shape the future of digital security.
